Carbide FAQ

The basics of carbide

It has been known for decades that the use of carbide is an optimum solution for tools used to process metal and drill stone. In the meantime, carbides have also proven their superiority in many other applications.

Ideally, engineering design solutions are developed in collaboration with engineers and application technologists of the carbide manufacturer.

Particularly with costly industrial systems or high-quality machinery, the use of carbide leads to the standstill times resulting from wear-related failure of a single part being reduced significantly.   Conversely, this leads to a considerable improvement in availability, as well as process reliability.
